Using comments

Comments allow anyone in a plan to ask and respond to questions about tasks. A common scenario is that a participant will ask a question about a task, and a user will reply.

Comments can also be used by users to give participants proactive hints about tasks, or to chase up overdue tasks in a more a personal way than the automated reminders.

Note: Comments are enabled by default on templates, but if you don't see the comment box on tasks, they may be disabled. You can check the setting in other template options.

Writing a comment

Open a plan, click into any task, and you'll see a comment box below the main task area:

Write your comment and click the send button.

An email notification will go to all other people on the plan (all other participants and users), as long as the other users haven't opted out of receiving notifications for comments & replies.

Replying to comments

Hover over any comment and click the reply button to write a reply.

An email notification will go to the person who wrote the message that is being replied to.

Opt in or out of email notifications

Participants can enable/disable email notifications for comments or replies by following the link on notification emails.

Users can click their name in the bottom left corner of the Onthen dashboard, select Notifications, and opt in/out there.
